Application GuidelinesA Fund to ‘Enhance Life Experiences’ for the Berkshire County Foster Children.Vision StatementThe vision of the EGGS Foundation for Foster Children is to enhance life experiences for Foster Children through educational gifts, grants and scholarships to achieve a broader exposure to life’s opportunities. The goal of the EGGS Foundation is to build the confidence and knowledge of Foster Children in order to make better life choices. Purpose The EGGS Foundation Fund is a community resource to ‘enhance life experiences’ for children in foster care. Awards Gifts: a one time gift of monies/gift certificates/products given for categories to include, but not limited to: school, sports, camps, arts, child & infant care, vacations, clothes and medical. Grants: a sum given on an ongoing basis for categories to include, but not limited to study and education. Eligibility Foster Children under the care of the Pittsfield Department of Social Services (DSS) in the following categories; kinship, respite (part time care), foster care and independent living. To Apply The application form is to be completed by a foster child with the support of the foster parent and social worker. Application may be submitted in letter or picture format and are to be sent to Berkshire Taconic. Review Process Applications will be reviewed by the EGGS Board. This is a committee comprised of individuals who are active in community affairs. Their recommendations will be reviewed by the Berkshire Taconic’s Distribution Committee and Board of Directors. Review Criteria Applications will be reviewed as to the quality of program/service requested, impact on the applicant and the ability of the applicant to complete the project requested. Deadline Applications will be reviewed accepted quarterly. Deadline for each quarter will be January 1, April 1, July 1 and September 1. Notification Applicants will be notified of the EGGS Foundation Fund’s decision within 3 weeks of the deadline date.
